Opportunities to explore with Nuvei

An overview of the capabilities, account models and use cases we'd like to build together: global merchant onboarding, multi-currency settlement, fraud data and stablecoin payouts.

Global merchant onboarding

Onboard both individual and business merchants worldwide, with a streamlined verification flow that controls cost without sacrificing coverage.

Lightweight KYB, staged verification

To reduce onboarding cost, we want to verify progressively: a quick internal pre-check first, then KYC, and only a full KYB once the merchant proves real activity.

STEP 01

Internal pre-check

We screen the business against our own acceptance criteria. Once approved, we run a KYC.

STEP 02

KYC & volume tracking

KYC done, merchant starts collecting. We monitor cumulative processed volume in the background.

STEP 03

Full KYB

Once the threshold is crossed, escalate to full business verification.

$2,500 cumulative volume triggers the KYB. Below it, paying for a KYB on individuals or merchants who won't generate real volume would be a sunk cost, so we defer it until activity justifies it.

Multi-currency accounts & on-demand settlement

Give merchants native multi-currency accounts and let us control settlement timing with our own rules.

Multi-currency accounts

A single merchant can hold balances in multiple currencies, e.g. EUR & USD side by side. Charge in the currency the customer pays in, hold it natively, settle when it makes sense.

On-demand settlement

Settlement happens when we decide, driven by our own rules, not on a fixed external schedule. Full control over treasury timing and payout cadence.

Killing the FX spread with stablecoins

Many European merchants charge in USD (and EUR) but settle everything in EUR, eating an avoidable FX spread on every USD transaction (Adyen, for example, charges around 0.9%). By holding native USD and settling in stablecoins (USDC / EURC), we remove that spread entirely instead of converting through a forced FX leg.

Fraud data, build a shared model

We want access to as many fraud endpoints as possible. The goal: build a large, shared data model exposed back to our merchants as a fraud-prevention layer.

Model A, Direct merchant

A SaaS, e-commerce store, freelancer or agency holds a Suby account, collects card payments directly, and Nuvei settles in stablecoins (USDC / EURC) straight into the DFNS-managed merchant balance.

Model B, Suby Connect

In each case there's one sub-merchant (the wallet, the marketplace, the neobank) with many associated wallets underneath, one per freelancer, seller, or end-user. Nuvei does the processing and settlement, in stablecoins where possible, into a smart account that splits the funds. Three validated use cases with real demand below.

Open questions for Nuvei

Everything below is framed as a question we'd like Nuvei to answer to scope the partnership.

01
Settlement
What are your settlement fees for stablecoin payouts (USDC / EURC)?
02
Flow of funds
Can Nuvei settle directly into the merchant balance, a DFNS wallet we don't control?
The merchant balance sits in a DFNS-managed (MPC) wallet we don't hold the keys to. We need to know whether Nuvei can settle straight into that destination.
03
Fraud
Can we build our own fraud rules on top of your signals and our merchant base?
04
Coverage
Can you onboard individual & business merchants across the US, EU, LATAM, UAE, Eastern Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong?
05
Verification
Can we run staged verification (KYC first, full KYB only after $2,500 of volume) to avoid paying for KYB on merchants who won't transact?
06
Multi-currency
Can a single merchant hold native EUR & USD balances so we remove the forced FX spread?
07
Settlement timing
Can settlement be on-demand, triggered by our own rules rather than a fixed schedule?
08
Sub-merchants
Do you support sub-merchant flows (wallet, marketplace, neobank) where we handle the fund split?
